The new 1858 Geosphere Limited Edition: an homage to the legendary climber and explorer Reinhold Messner.

The first person to climb Everest solo and without supplementary oxygen and the first to climb all 14 peaks over 8,000 metres, Reinhold Messner is arguably the greatest mountaineer of modern times. His life achievements and philosophy emphasises that the point of traditional alpinism and adventure is not just getting to the top but also savoring the whole experience of doing so. Embodying the vintage aesthetic and spirit of exploration, the new 1858 Geosphere Limited Edition harmoniously contrasts bronze, blue, and rose gold-coated elements and is an ode to Messner’s legacy. Limited to 262 pieces, the timepiece refers to all the peaks over 26,200 feet that he climbed during his career.

“A reliable and high performing watch is an essential companion to any adventurer setting out on a major expedition.” – Reinhold Messner.

1858 Geosphere is powered by the manufacture automatic calibre MB 29.25 and features a world time complication that includes two turning globes that make a full rotation every 24 hours. Celebrating Messner’s achievements, red dots on the globes mark the world’s Seven Summits – the most demanding mountaineering challenge, otherwise known as the Messner list. The caseback is decorated with an image of the Mont Blanc mountain, the complete Messner list, a compass, two crossed ice pick-axes, and an engraving of Messner’s signature. A new configuration of the glowing elements enhanced by SuperLumiNovaÒ makes almost all the elements of the dial and bezel visible in low light. A hand-made luxury NATO strap completes the look of the timepiece.
